David Tyndall

David Tyndall, P.Eng. is currently Ontario Power Generation’s (OPG) Director of Engineering for New Nuclear Technology, as well as a Board of Directors member for Global First Power (GFP). David is a graduate of McMaster University’s Engineering and Management program.
David has been with OPG for the past 16 years, working in various roles of increasing scope and accountability at Pickering, Darlington, and most recently in New Nuclear development. David led technology assessment, and project engineering teams for the Darlington New Nuclear Small Modular Reactor Project, and currently, David’s team is working to look at new nuclear technology deployment beyond Darlington, including grid-scale deployments, industrial deployments, and off-grid/remote deployments.
At GFP, David joined the Board of Directors at the company’s creation. David is an active member of the Board of Directors, providing oversight and strategic direction to the executive leadership team in the establishment of a new operating entity and project deployment.
David is a licensed Professional Engineer in the province of Ontario, Canada, something he has held since 2012.
Outside of work, David lives in Oshawa, Ontario, and enjoys spending time with family and friends, being outdoors, running, cycling, and curling.
