Dr. Sayra Cristancho is an Associate Professor in the Department of Surgery and a Scientist in the Centre for Education Research & Innovation (CERI) at the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry at Western University in London, Ontario. She received her PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of British Columbia. Her research program investigates how action teams across industries navigate and respond to disruptive events. Her goal is to help healthcare teams become more resilient to crises, like pandemics. To do this, she uses qualitative research, biology and systems engineering principles.
